New song, “Cannibal,” released 14th August.

Former Cocteau Twins vocalist Liz Fraser has lent her voice to another collaboration—her second in 2020 following her appearance with Sam Lee earlier in the year. This time it’s for Iceland’s Jónsi (of Sigur Rós), whose next LP is due in October. Fraser appears on the single, “Cannibal,” which will be released online via Bandcamp on 14th August.

Fans of both artists no doubt appreciate Jónsi’s reputation for singing in his own made-up language, Hopelandic, on earlier Sigur Rós records, much as Liz herself had a reputation for doing on some Cocteau Twins records. The two singers’ vocal stylings have often been compared, as Sigur Rós’ sound has often evoked Cocteau Twins.

You can purchase a digital copy of “Cannibal” via Jónsi’s Bandcamp page. ▣
