Lynch has been broadcasting a daily “Weather Report” during the pandemic.

In his 25th November instalment, the famed director—who has been a long-time fan of Cocteau Twins since the early 80s—digressed into a brief recollection of his love for the This Mortal Coil cover of “Song to the Siren,” which was recorded by Robin and Liz in 1983.

“This morning, I started thinking about one of my all-time favorites: ‘Song to the Siren’ by This Mortal Coil. Elizabeth Fraser just does this thing so beautifully. One of the greats.”

He then immediately resumed summarizing the weather forecast.
