UPDATE: Massive Attack canceled their planned North America tour. Ticket holders were provided refunds. No further information was provided regarding future performance dates.

Massive Attack have confirmed that Elizabeth Fraser will be joining them on at least some of their planned US tour dates later this year. Fraser performed with the band earlier this season as they toured Europe.

Elizabeth’s relationship with Massive Attack goes back to the latter half of the 1990s, and her partner, Damon Reece, plays drums in the band. She sang on their breakthrough track “Teardrop”—a song inspired by the tragic death of her close friend Jeff Buckley—in 1997, and appeared on two other tracks on their Mezzanine LP (1998), “Black Milk” and “Group Four.” She later contributed vocals to a fourth song, “Silent Spring,” released on their album Collected (2006).

Fraser, who will turn 61 this month, has toured with Massive Attack before, and frequently performs other ‘non-canonical’ songs while on stage, including “Yanka’s Song” and “My Colouring Book,” neither of which has been formally released.

Confirmed performance dates thus far include:

  • 10/17 – Atlanta, GA @ Coca-Cola Roxy
  • 10/18 – Miami, FL @ iii Points
  • 10/22 – Washington, DC @ The Anthem
  • 10/23 – Boston, MA @ Roadrunner
  • 10/24 – New York, NY @ Forest Hills Stadium
